The new version of ProSimPlus, the steady-state process simulation software of the French software house ProSim, sets new standards in terms of accuracy, efficiency and of flexibility.
Aside from improvements in reliability of different unit operation algorithms (crystallisation, distillation.), this version notably includes a new feature, the Windows Script. It enables the user to easily create custom calculation module in the ProSimPlus simulation environment, using the Microsoft VBScript language, a simplified version of Microsoft Visual Basic. Once created, they can be integrated in the flowsheet and handled in the same way as the standard modules provided with ProSimPlus. Their use is fully transparent and does not require any particular manipulation.
Applications of this new feature are numerous: creation of specific unit operations, importation of external data (from MS Excel for example), setting and management of constraints on the process, etc.
ProSimPlus was already able to represent almost all type of installation, thanks to extensive unit operations library and one of the richest thermodynamic libraries available. The Windows Script module, as well as the other improvements brought to ProSimPlus, reinforce the position of ProSimPlus among the most reliable and flexible simulation software. Furthermore, they illustrate ProSim's product development policy that places the user at the center of any discussion in order to closely answer to his requirements.
