ProSim's Users Meeting next 2nd and 3rd of December Top
Our next Users Meeting will take place the 2nd and 3rd December 2004 at the Cité de l'Espace in Toulouse (France). We will take this opportunity to celebrate our fiftieth anniversary with prestigious guests.
Place of exchanges and discussions on ProSim's Solutions and Services, our Users Meeting is an exceptional opportunity to review the evolution of the company, of its simulation software, of their integration in industrial activities and of future development directions. These meetings enable the attendees to discover and share experiences from different horizons and to exchange in an informal way with ProSim's experts.
ProSim's Users Meeting is for customers and ProSim's solutions users only. However, those who wish to know our team and solutions better have some places held in reserve, contact us.

DIPPR L03 +: A new extended physical properties database Top
Last year ProSim announced the signature of an agreement with BYU (Brigham Young University - exclusive DIPPR® distributor) on the distribution of the DIPPR® database (Design Institute for Physical Properties from AIChE). With this agreement, ProSim joined the few companies to distribute the original DIPPR® database worldwide.
In 2004, to respond to requests for further efficiency and reliability by major actors of the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, ProSim enriched the standard database with additional constant and temperature dependant properties. ProSim's DIPPR L03+ now provides reliable information for close to 2000 compounds.
DIPPR L03+ is available as standalone, provided with Component Plus (ProSim's free pure component properties database management software) or as an option to any ProSim's package. The standalone version can be purchased online from ProSim's web site.

Reducing your energy costs with Ariane version 6 Top
Ariane is a unique software dedicated to the design and the optimization of power plants.
It is a powerful and reliable solution that, among other things enables the power plant manager to obtain the lowest cost configuration according to the required energy output, to evaluate the ROI of a single equipment or of an entire plant or to evaluate cogeneration economic viability and performances.
The new version of the software includes features to identify and manage pollutant emissions. In today's energetic context, Ariane becomes an increasingly valuable tool that needs to be closely considered.

2004 Training sessions Top
Every year, ProSim organize a mix of training sessions around its major area of expertise. Common issues are covered and supported with case studies using different software. It is a great opportunity to interact informally with our experts and to explore new approaches in the chemical engineering area.
Next sessions will be held at the following dates:
- Batch Processes Dynamic Simulation (BatchColumn, BatchReactor): November, 18-19 2004
- Thermodynamic Approach in Process Simulation (ProPhy Plus, BibPhy Add-In): October, 13 2004
- Continuous Process Steady-state Simulation (ProSimPlus): October, 14-15 2004

Whether you are a ProSim software user or not, you will be able to deepen your knowledge in the chosen area and to improve your performances.

Braskem chooses Ariane for the optimization of its power plants Top
Braskem (Brazil) the South American leader of the petrochemical industry recently acquired Ariane to optimize its utility production. To respond to intensive variation of electricity prices (depending on the external supplier and the time of the day) the configuration of the plant needed to be changed daily. Previously, decisions were made with support of Excel spreadsheet calculations, a tool with limited flexibility and reliability considering the complexity of the problem. Braskem team decided that they needed a powerful tool to better answer their questions and to reach the optimal operating configuration for the plant. The choice of Braskem naturally went on Ariane, a power plant dedicated software that determines the operating parameters which enable the lowest energy cost.
