Simulis Thermodynamics extends its capabilities Top
ProSim releases a new version of Simulis Thermodynamics, its software component dedicated to thermo-physical properties calculation and available as an MS-Excel add-in, a MATLAB toolbox or as a module pluggable in any other software that requires quality thermo-physical properties.

This new version integrates additional calculation capabilities for properties (fugacity, internal energy…), new flashes (temperature-volume, enthalpy-internal energy, internal energy-volume…), as well as derivatives of available properties, with respect to temperature, pressure, or mole number.

Additionally, Simulis Thermodynamics now offers the ability to automatically generate PSF (Process Simulation File) files, directly usable by the Aspen TASC (HTFS) software, for heat exchanger calculations. These files contain properties for liquid and vapor phases such as specific heat, molecular weight, viscosity, thermal conductivity or surface tension, tabled with respect to temperature and pressure. For diphasic mixtures, Simulis Thermodynamics provides enthalpy data such as temperature, pressure, enthalpy and vapor ratio.
Particularly relevant for exchanger manufacturers and their customers, this new feature allows TASC users with a limited thermodynamic database to access one of the richest thermodynamic packages available and enhance the quality of their exchangers design calculations at reasonable price.

Simulis Thermodynamics can be purchased online from our web site or downloaded for free, as a 10 days evaluation version with a limited database.

New training sessions and 2006 calendar Top
Every year, ProSim organizes several training sessions around its major areas of expertise. Common issues are covered and illustrated with case studies and applications that enable participants to get acquainted with different simulation software.
In 2006, the training catalogue is enriched with additional sessions focused on particular topics such as simulation of batch chemical reactors, modeling of batch distillation columns or optimization of power plants. Furthermore, training on the utilization of Simulis software components are also proposed in order to allow users to become operational in the shortest delay.
Detailed programs and dates of these training sessions as well as registration forms are available on ProSim's website: http://www.prosim.net. The number of participants is limited, therefore we invite you to register as soon as possible.

ProSim announces the release of DIPPR L05+ Top

DIPPR L05+ is an enriched version of AIChE’s DIPPR® database, and provides up-to-date data on 2027 compounds, including most industrially relevant components. For each of them, DIPPR L05+ provides data for 29 fixed-value properties (molar weight, critical temperature, critical pressure, etc.) and correlation coefficients for 15 temperature-dependent properties (liquid and vapor heat capacity, vapor pressure, liquid and vapor viscosity, etc).
The 2005 release of DIPPR® provides properties for 1843 compounds. DIPPR L05+ completes it with data for 184 additional components, gathered by ProSim's thermodynamics experts.

DIPPR L05+ is available in standalone format with Component Plus (ProSim's free pure component properties database management software) or as an option to any ProSim's package. The standalone version can be purchased online from ProSim's web site (http://www.prosim.net).

Improved licensing conditions for teaching and research Top
In order to better answer to specific requirements of academic staff and research people, our academic program has been enriched with new offer and additional software.
In particular, ProSim introduces the "Class" license which can be used by up to 40 simultaneous users. This option is ideal for lecturers who wish to give access to the software to all their students.
Research centers have now access to an extended range of software that can be useful in research such as ProSimPlus HNO3 (simulation of nitric acid production and nitrous vapors absorption processes), ProSim DAC (dynamic simulation of adsorption columns (gas/solid)) and ProSim RBA (Rate-based non-equilibrium model for all types of multistage vapor-liquid fractionation operations).
