ProSim enters a partnership agreement with DECHEMA for the distribution of the DETHERM database and associated software.
The DETHERM database is the world largest factual database for raw thermo-physical property data (over 26 000 pure compounds and 100 000 mixtures covered).
DETHERM includes the well known DDB database for vapour-liquid and liquid-liquid equilibria, but also several other databases for azeotropic data, excess enthalpies, viscosities...
DETHERM software suite includes in particular DPP (Data Preparation Package) which is a powerful tool for the regression of model parameters from experimental data. A great strength of DPP is its ability to simultaneously correlate different data types. Additionally, a direct lick between DPP and Simulis Thermodynamics has been developed.

| Next Simulis Thermodynamics Workshop : October 18, in Paris |

ProSim has the pleasure to invite you to a free workshop on the thermophysical properties server Simulis Thermodynamics. It will take place on October 18, 2007, from 9h15 to 12h30, in Paris - La Défense (France) and will be followed by a lunch.
If you regularly run thermodynamic calculations, work on specific properties or develop software that requires quality physico-chemical properties, this workshop will be particularly useful to you.
Many examples and practical application will be presented in order to provide you with a clear insight of the capabilities of the software.
The previous edition, organized in July in Lyon, was successful, with over 30 companies represented and 77% of attendees confirming that they learned many things and that the information they gathered was very useful.

| PPR78: new predictive equation of state for saturated hydrocarbons, aromatics and naphtenes |

ProSim announces the integration of PPR78, a new predictive equation of state, in Simulis Thermodynamics (software component for thermodynamic properties calculation) and therefore in ProSimPlus (software for steady-state simulation of industrial processes).
The model implemented comes from Jaubert et al. group contribution method, which allows the estimation of the temperature dependent binary interaction parameters for the widely used Peng–Robinson equation of state (EOS).
A key point in Jaubert et al. approach is that the interaction parameters between two components are only a function of temperature, critical temperatures, critical pressures and acentric factors. This means that no additional properties besides those required by the EOS itself are required.

Reliable and accurate physical property and thermodynamic data help companies avoid the potential of gross over-sizing or faulty design of process equipment. AIChE's Design Institute of Physical Properties is an industry consortium that helps promote the development of databases that contain the critical design information.
ProSim recently signed on to become a sponsor of DIPPR. In particular DIPPR project 801 aiming to create a database of evaluated process design data of physical, thermodynamic, and transport properties for industrially important chemicals used in chemical process and equipment design is of major interest for ProSim.
For many years now ProSim has an agreement with BYU to distribute the DIPPR database, the industry standard for pure component thermophysical properties, in conjunction with its software. That remains, but becoming a sponsor of DIPPR 801 provides ProSim with exclusive benefits including: access to the most current version of the DIPPR database, the opportunity to interact with the principal investigators, data experts, and process engineers from the other member chemical, E&C, and software companies, or influence the selection of which chemicals, properties, and correlations are included in the DIPPR® 801 Database and the direction of the project.

In order to better answer to specific requirements of academic staff and research people, our academic program proposes a wide range of software at particularly interesting conditions.
Different licensing options are available. In particular, the "Class" license can be used by up to 40 simultaneous users. This option is ideal for lecturers who wish to provide software access to all their students.
Research centers have access to an extended range of useful software such as ProSimPlus HNO3 (simulation of nitric acid production and nitrous vapors absorption processes), ProSim DAC (dynamic simulation of adsorption columns-gas/solid) or ProSim RBA (Rate-based non-equilibrium model for all types of multistage vapor-liquid fractionation operations).
